So Called Sea Lions

          My capstone project centers on one of my most peculiar/irrational beliefs: sea lions are not to be trusted.

This idea provided the base for my project and research, although it quickly turned into something more than a manifesto against sea lions. While I was struggling, like much of the country, with the results of the 2016 election and the new political state surrounding me I began to realize something about sea lions and me.

A lot of the questions, concerns and suspicions I had about sea lions were almost directly equivalent to questions, concerns and suspicions about immigrants, especially Muslim immigrants. With this new context, my project became a satiric take on 2016/2017 politics via a children's book for adults.
