Minor In Writing

My progression through the Minor in Writing program at the University of Michigan. Courses include Writing 220; a gateway course intoducing students to the minor. For this class we completed three major projects, Repurposing an Argument, Remediating an Argument and Why and How I Write. In addition, we posted and commented on posts weekly on a Sweetland Writing blog.

My gateway class included students from many different majors, with very different backgrounds and experiences. Despite the differences, we were all connected by a passion for writing. Hearing feedback from my classmates offered me a new perspective into my own writing. I could see something that was so familiar to me through a new lense shaped and formed by experiences and interests different than mine.

In my experience so far, I have gained and developed writing skills that apply to every part of my life, academic or not. The importance of writing, and good writing, has been reinforced.
